A conversation about Bang Bua - community upgrading project Bangkok.

A 10 page report on the discussions that took place when a team from the UN-Habitat's Slum Upgrading Facility (SUF) visited one community upgrading project in Northern Bangkok 2008.

This visit was to a large upgrading project being undertaken by a network of 12 squatter-communities along the 13 kilometer length of the Bang Bua canal. The report follows the lively exchange that took place between an international team of professionals who are struggling to find ways to support community-driven upgrading, and a group of community people who are actually doing it.
