About the IIED blog

IIED blogs contain ideas, views and experiences sharing our agenda to build a fairer and more sustainable world. Any member of staff at IIED can blog, and many do, offering their opinions in a direct and informal way.

We blog on a wide range of topics related to IIED’s work. You can use the blog themes menu to find blogs about subjects that interest you, and a full archive can be found on the main IIED blogs page.

We also feature posts by guest bloggers, many of whom work for partner organisations around the world. Check out our bloggers page for a full list of IIED’s experts and guests.

We want our blogs to be personal and topical, and written for particular (sometime niche) audiences. We provide some guidance and support because we want our bloggers to make the best use of the medium. But there are many different ways to blog, and you’ll see that our bloggers take different approaches.

All of our blogs are clearly attributed, and are written by the named authors.

We are keen to use blogs to start conversations, and we look forward to receiving your comments. We encourage authors to respond to our readers’ comments and welcome this opportunity to have an open discussion.

All viewpoints are welcome; we don’t edit comments and will post any except for spam or comments that are off-topic, denigrating or offensive. Read our terms below for more details.

If you want to post a comment, please provide your name (or nickname) and e-mail address. We will only publish your name – not your email address – along with your comment. We ask for your e-mail address so that we can contact you if necessary. E-mail addresses included in the text of the comment will be deleted.

IIED uses the Disqus comment system, and in addition to signing up to Disqus, commenters can also sign in using their Facebook, Twitter or Google+ accounts.

Please share and comment on the posts and ideas that interest you. If you have suggestions or requests, please don’t hesitate to contact us. If you are a journalist, please send questions to our media team, rather than submitting them as comments.

Stay in touch

We actively post and engage in conversations on a number of online networks and platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Google+.

You can subscribe to new content via RSS and email by following the instructions on this page. Or sign up to receive our monthly newsletter.

We also welcome blogs from guest contributors that complement our work and share our vision to build a fairer and more sustainable world. To suggest a contribution, or topic, contact us.
